Kinda figured this was the case. I’m not gonna pretend to know anything about Michkov’s character, but I had a feeling he’d pull a Lindros on us had we selected him. Im happy that we ended up with two high-ceiling guys who genuinely seem excited about the prospect of suiting up for us one day.
Sucks to hear but it makes sense, either way it’ll be interesting to see how Michkov develops. Obviously still excited to see how our guys do as well.
Sucks, but I expected that to be the reason.
Now we know why we went off board so far. I have to say I am excited that both our top picks appear to have a relationship with each other. It hopefully will make their transition to the US a lot easier in a couple years.
Ok, I think – while still disappointing – this was the only logical reason we passed on him (and others).
Really must be frustrating for GMBA (and us) to work so hard to obtain all this top-end draft capital – only to get refused by high-end, game-changing draft picks like this and have to pick way lower than your picks would allow.
