I had hoped Mayfield would be re-signed but I do worry the AAV will come in a lot higher and the term a lot longer than some fans are thinking.

Little surprising, but for the right price, sure, he’s a homegrown player, and we’d really miss his physicality. Makes some boneheaded mistakes, but seemed like those were decreasing.

seeing a lot of fans express trepidation about the price tag. honestly, with the way our defense has gone from our greatest strength to a major weakness over the last few seasons following the loss of leddy and toews, we absolutely cannot lose mayfield. we’re trying to win here and continuing to shed known quantities in the hopes we can plug the holes later is not a winning strategy
