Barnsley were robbed, no penalty by VAR, and dodgy red card. Same as Huddersfield last year, I have no skin in the game. I'm from the other side of the pennines.
Got to feel for the Barnsley fans. Should have had a pen and it was never a red. VAR letting a team down in a play off final two years running.

Thought Wednesday were very poor and struggled as we did against Derby with 10 men. Barnsley did well to hang in the contest but delighted to be back at Portman Road again next season, another holiday in Felixstowe!

you've done it ben, three play-offs finals and what a set of dramas we've got. you would normally want your team to comfortably win by 2 or 3 goals on a game like this but for me as a neutral to these 6 teams, this is excatly what i love

I still think Darren Moore of Sheffield Wednesday should be the EFL League One Manager of Season.
Championship will be very tricky. The teams relegated have been in the prem for a long time so they’ll have lots of money from sky and parachute payments. The teams that have come up were fantastic. Getting 96 points and still not going up automatically shows how competitive the top of league 1 has been.

Whilst we had some good chances i do think Barnsley were the better side for the majority and can consider themselves really unlucky, we didnt look coherent for a lot of the game.
But i dont think many would argue we don't deserve it over the course of the season.
Hopefully Barnsley keep Duff and them and Derby are my pick for the top 2. To get them to that position after relegation is some feat
It was a great day. Barnsley played the better football over all but didn't manage to get the all important goal which the Owls did in typical Wednesday fashion.

SWFC – An emotional rollercoaster. I feel relieved more than anything. It wasn't the best of games to watch, a really cagey affair. I thought we got lucky with the penalty that wasn't given however the red card was clear. After it, Barnsley were the better side and we looked more scared than before. It was destined for penalties then Windass popped up with the winner with virtually the last kick. Proud of everyone. We deserve it after the season we’ve had. I really hope we use this as a springboard to kick on for the future. We don’t want to be back in League One.

I agree that it was a fairly equally matched game often low on quality. That probably should have been a penalty but I do think that sloppy wayward challenge from the Barnsley lad is a red (unnecessary too) though other opinions are available. Barnsley did well considering the 10 men and were dominant for fair bit of the match and that OConnell chance will haunt him, do think on balance Wednesday just about edged it over the 120 in terms of chances created though. If not for some excellent saves from Isted (Dawson was the less busy keeper overall) we'd have won it by a few. Overall mixed feelings on the game and can see why Barnsley fans are disappointed/annoyed but given its been a 96 point season (10 ahead of 4th) that justice feels like its been done. The playoffs are so cruel. UTO but hard luck Barnsley, I'm sure you'll do it next year, you're an excellent side with a brilliant manager.
Great result for Wednesday and Barnsley. Wednesday got what they needed, promotion. Barnsley got what they enjoy, a reason for excuses. Duff will be leaving before the season starts. Barnsley are devoid of skill and will do well to finish mid table. Wednesday need to sort this squad out and add quality and youth.
