OK Guys, we have some breaking news as the Montreal Canadiens have decided to part ways with veteran defensemen Joel Edmundson. The trade sends him to the Washington Capitals for draft picks, and I fully believe that the Habs made the right decision on this one..

Good luck to Joel, but no surprise. We got an excess of young D that need playing time to let things shake out. Sorry to see Alex Belzile go, but hope he can earn a spot with the Rangers.
50% salary retained is a bit much.. Washington fleeced us. They got a good deal. We must owe em some future considerations or something.
i dunno i woulda got someone younger prospect type, instead of edmundson…..the kids need a older guy thats been around to teach the young lads…i woulda went with harris…..my opinion….
I remember when we kept him at the last trade deadline. Some folks were telling me we were not offered enough for him. Management has now traded him away for what amounts to a bag of pucks. I'm so done with this week.

We went from trading him away to a potential contender at the trade deadline, to taking whatever we could get just so that we could get rid of him (to make space for younger D-men.)

Now Wideman is happy to ride the pine unless he needs to come in for injuries, but unless Marty decides to run 7 D and 11 F in games, one of the other 7 are sitting out every game.
Harris needs to elevate his game , the competition is very tough amongst the young dmen
