As the Vegas Golden Knights were raising the Stanley Cup, the odds for next season were already hot off the press, and at the top of that list was the Colorado Avalanche.
Las Vegas continues to be enamored with the Avs and how can you not be when the meat of the team is locked up. As long as the Avalanche can fill in the holes and stay healthy, they should be at the top of most lists to get another championship.
We also take a look a trade that went down between the Avs and the Dallas Stars. Dallas sent forward Fredrik Olofsson to Colorado for……nobody, yet. Dallas will get somebody later. Maybe. We just don’t know.
And we give Matt Nieto his season grade. I think we can all agree we would like to see Nieto back next year with the Avs.

Yeah…but haven't the Avs been favored the last 3 or 4 yrs?
I'm excited for Avs/Lightning 2: Electric Boogaloo. At the very least, it'd be a better matchup than VGK/Florida.
As a Stars fan, I'm annoyed that they gave up on Olofsson. And if I can put on my tinfoil hat, it seems like a retaliatory move to appease one petty little punk who happens to wear the C.
I don't know about being cup favorites. I'm kindof surprised they picked the Avs for the cup next season. Our captain is out all year and we have a lot of our bottom six guys we have to still sign. Plus a reliable 2c. I really do hate when they choose the avalanche bc it always seems to screw us in the end lol.

As a Vegas fan those odds are laughable . I think Avs should be towards the top but Toronto? Yea . Pretty dumb. Also, I have news for you . “Future considerations” is another word for absolutely nothing . We traded Pacioretty away for “future considerations” . It’s just nothing .

It's crazy how much weight people put on Mackinnon, Rantanen, and Makar. It seems as long as they are on a team, that team is the fav to win. They are amazing players but they cant do it by themselves as this past season showed. Hopefully they get some help and get another cup.
