Coming home could truthfully help a lot mentally. Playing a professional sport in front of more family, friends, acquaintances , people you grew up with, familiar territory could all help motivate mentally .
I think it could be a huge win for us especially considering he doesn’t miss a game for anything
Couple of things later in Friedman says there would be no issue signing him in Detroit the stall is in the trade return.

Based on Yzerman’s comments in his post Free Agency press availability It sounds unlikely that anything will happen.
