Sweden’s Leo Carlsson worked out with his new team for the first time on Monday, as the Anaheim Ducks held the first session of their annual prospect Development Camp at Great Park Ice & FivePoint Arena in Irvine, California.
Carlsson was selected second overall by Anaheim at last week’s NHL Draft, behind only top pick Connor Bedard. The 18-year-old forward from Karlstad is expected to return to Sweden and spend this season back with his SHL team Orebro.
The five-day camp will feature Ducks prospects participating in on-ice skating and skills, and off-ice strength and conditioning and leadership development sessions conducted by the organization’s coaches and player development staff.
