Brad was the best move Shanahan has made thus far. Dubas was his biggest mistake hire and look how Dubas left the team. Shanny please admit that was a mistake. Keefe shouldn’t have been brought back. Greedy Nylander asking for $10M crazy
Offer William Nylander 8.8.8 and also offer take on his brother. For minimum wage of course.
Contract negotiations between the Leafs and Nylander haven't gone the best, so there's a good chance that Leafs could still trade Nylander and potentially break the core 4 up.
Nylander for Pesce?
Offense got better Defense is roughly the same. Losing Schenn was a big loss. Losing Holl was a big gain. I think they still have to upgrade the D. Three good solid D men still needed. O'Reilly is Defensively sound but Max Domi will add some fire to the lineup. Bertuzzi is a better player than Bunting and a better fit on the Top 6. Hopefully Treliving can unload Murray and Brodie to Get another good Defenseman or 2.

I'm starting to really like Brad Treliving. He made his vision for the team very clear – a more physical and gritty team

Brodie is 0-23…as in 0 goals in 2023!!! He had 2 goals last season(1 vs ANA Dec 12 and 1 vs COL on Dec 31). So, while goal scoring is not the only way to measure a D-man, I think it makes you see how his 5mil cap hit could/should be moved, especially since he's UFA after this season. Almost same situation with Murray, who makes almost 5 mil and is also a UFA after this season. Move those two players and you have solved your cap situation.
As a Leaf fan I wasnt upset at all about July1st. Maybe with Luke Schenn but I seen his cap-hit & thought nevrmind. Steve Dangle was over reacting like a monkey on the 1stday & all I could do was smh
