The Canadiens prospects had their final day of development camp on Tuesday morning and to the surprise of no one two defenders stole the show. Both Lane Hutson and David Reinbacher were all over the ice in Brossard and their chemistry were instantly undeniable as they dominated the scrimmage to end camp. The hosts discuss Reinbacher calling Hutson the next Cale Makar, and how Reinbacher has already staked a claim in the prospect rankings.
The Canadiens also opted to add another goalie, this time Zachary Emond who spent part of last year with the Devils minor league teams last year. With Emond, plus Jakub Dobes, Strauss Mann and a few others, what is the Habs plan for goaltending in this upcoming season?

We need to calm down with the hype, very good player, but you're setting yourself up for dissapointment if you're calling him the next cale makar
Check this out……. I've been a Habs fan since the mid 80's. AND, I'm from California, born and raised. So, I've been disregarded, looked down on, ostracized as not being a REAL fan. Almost always by so called Canadiens fans to boot. I don't live on the East coast, I'm NOT from Canada,i get it. To an extent….. But, y'all think you know what the future holds? Even more, better then GM's ,scouts, etc.?? So they drafted Reinbacher…. Wow!! The hate, the unbridled f ing hate this kid received is SICKENING!! Can't we just enjoy we got a talented d man who seems genuinely grateful to be drafted by the Habs? Instead, we bitch and moan about not drafting MM….. BTW, who won't be here for at least three years!! And, y'all don't KNOW for sure he's going to be the next Ovechkin…… He may not, as much as he might be. Shame on you Habs fans, appreciate what you have. I.E. a great young and upcoming team….. And as always GHG!!
Not every Canadian person that loves the habs we’re mad about the habs taking Reinbacher…. I listen to what Grant McCagg says about the habs drafting and I knew a month ago that Montreal was probably taking Reinbacher…. So I started looking at him and started looking at his stats and I was sooooo happy we drafted him because he will be so impactful to our team way more then what Michkov would have done for us…. I believe in the players we have. Slafkovsky 80-90 point player in his prime that’s my opinion. Suzuki has another level to his game, Caufield has another level to his game, Dach also has another level to his game…. We have so many prospects that people give up on and think that they won’t be anything for example lots of habs fans think Joshua Roy, Filip Mesar, Owen Beck, Oliver Kapanen Etc. won’t be anything and are “Busts” some may not work out that’s the reality but some of them will be amazing players we have soooooo much at the forward position not to mention that Montreal can still Trade for or sign a big time superstar in the future threw free agency…. We need a player like Reinbacher more then anything… I was so happy when we took him because now our defence is up to par with Buffalos…. Lots of habs fans think Reinbacher won’t be good lmao they think without looking at things…. IN THEIR DRAFT YEARS!!! Victor Hedman and Rasmus Dahlin has a 0.49 Points Per Game…. REINBACHER HAD A 0.48 POINTS PER GAME!!! This kid is good!! For example Reinbacher in the Mens league was better then Heiskanen, Josi, Seider and the only ones above Reinbacher was Dahlin and Hedman…. Dahlin and Hedman both had a 0.49 PPG and Reinbacher had a 0.48 and this is playing against Men… heiskanen had a 0.27 PPG, Josi had a 0.23 PPG and Seider had a 0.21 PPG…. I mean when you really look at the numbers and all of his stats… he is the best defender in this draft BY FAR!! Most habs fans believe in Reinbacher but some don’t.. I think there are way more habs fans that believe he was the right pick rather then ones that believe he wasn’t…. He is most definitely better then Simon Nemec who went 2nd overall last year and he is better then David Jiricek who was amazing this year… for people “knowing the future” I definitely don’t know 100% if Reinbacher will be good or not. But I look at the numbers and all the facts and I’ve been watching the habs for 26 years and I know from experience that this kid is going to be special… Reinbacher may be so good that Montreal may not be able to keep Hutson, Reinbacher, Guhle and Mailloux 😂😂 they may cost to much money to keep all of them because they will be so good…. Obviously as fans we don’t know what the GMs are seeing and what they know but we can investigate for ourselves and from what I have seen over the last month and a half Reinbacher was the right pick for Montreal and the best player for us at 5th overall and I would rather have the Best defender in the draft rather then have the 4th or 5th best forward in the draft because Michkov was the 4th or 5th best forward in the draft… REINBACHER! Was the best defender in the draft and I would rather have him…
Of course they stole the show, there was no talent on offense. They played 2x 25 min of little to no contact hockey and red/white combined only 3 goals
Sam Girard is 5-10, 170 elite skill set but gets manhandled in the playoffs. Habs love hype, but Vegas did it with size, tremendous depth, skill up and down four lines, serious grit. Hudson is 5-9 150-160 lbs?, elite stick skill! a very mobile skater, a dynamic possession player, but not a great shot. Reinbacher was laying it on thick after a no-hit scrimmage. Makar is 5-11 190 and a top NHL Skater, elite mobility and elite speed, with a terrific shot, just big enough. Hudson needs time and room to grow, literally and figuratively. Actually, the best all around D in the scrimmage was Engstrom who is 6-2 and 190 lbs at 20yrs.

I feel like with the draft, there wasn't enough time to go over the Newhook trade in more depth. So lets do that! Realistically, what are you expecting from Newhook this year in terms of production? What do you think his skill ceiling is? And finally, what do you think he'd need to accomplish in a Habs uniform in order to justify what we gave up in our trade for him?
I'd love to hear both of your opinions on this!
