  1. That means the only competing team in the league that wanted to give him a long term deal was Boston 😂. He and his agent definitely dropped the ball.

  2. I agree 100%. It’s Tyler Bertuzzi and his agents fault. He is a good player, but I do not think he’s worth five point million dollars to me money first hockey last with Tyler Bertuzzi not good greed hockey should be your first passion then the money✌🏻🤘🏻🙏🏻🇺🇸

  3. No no no. You are letting Sweeney off the hook way too easily. Why didn’t Sweeney leave Bertuzzi and his agent with a “let us have the last shot” kind of arrangement? Give BOS the chance to respond to TOR’s offer… But no, Sweeney had moved on to other business?!?!?! That’s shocking incompetence. This team needs top-6 talent. A center would have been best. But Bertuzzi was a guy who proved himself in this system and showed notable chemistry with Pasta. Sweeney should have made it 100% clear (with Bertuzzi’s agent) that re-signing him was a priority. On a multi-year deal or a short-term deal. Either way. Instead Sweeney gives up and moves on to signing a bunch of washed up, old, slow has-beens?!?. Talk about settling for ponies when you need horses. BOS had $13.xM to spend on Jul 1. They ended up committing ~ $5.8M of that (for the upcoming season) on crap. Leaving them with $6.xM to re-sign Bergeron and their RFAs. Sweeney should have spent that $5.8M on Bertuzzi (or similar) and skipped the absurd signings of Lucic, JVR, Shattenkirk, Brown, etc. Those guys are a joke in 2023. This was monumental incompetence on Sweeney’s part. Shambolic. And your not calling him out on it is almost as bad.

  4. He had 8 goals and 22 assists in 50 games last season. 4 goals in 21 games for the Bruins. He was hot against Florida. He has one 30 goal season and is closing in on 30 years old. Let's stop pretending this guy won the cup for us and scores 40 goals a season. He obviously didn't want to be in Boston.
