Yikes. All three?! I just hope Dunn’s hearing is scheduled first, because I’m assuming what happens with the other two depends on what we can afford after Dunn. If he’s scheduled early than whether they settle or go to arbitration, at least it’ll be done quicker.

To my understanding it’s pretty standard when RFA contracts are up, arbitration means a neutral party hears the org and player’s arguments for why they should be paid X amount of money and the arbiter decides what they think is fair. Typically both sides work out agreements before ever getting to arbitration it just puts a ticking clock on finding a contract resolution.

Was worried until I researched more. Everyone from arbitration last year settled before their hearing date except for Yakov Trenin, where the verdict was accepted by the team. And everyone from 2021 also settled before their date.

Ron Francis is a patient man. Have faith and don’t panic.

Not a surprise. Dunn and Borgen have strong arbitration cases, but I doubt any of the Kraken players who filed for arbitration actually get to a hearing. They will likely agree to new contracts before that.

  5. Arbitration is tricky bc at arbitration a player hears the team tell him why he isn’t worth what the player is seeking which can be awkward. It happens though.

Unless you got reallyyy low balled it all seems like a formality. I would be curious on the stats where the arbitrators come back with a lower number than the team gave but it seems like a win win for players.

Either a team gives you a better offer sheet, your team can match, or you go to arbitration and potentially get a better salary.

None of these will make it to arbitration.
This is just another step in the process.
