  1. The Ducks have to put butts in seats. They don't have the luxury of being able to burn it to the ground unless there's an Austin Mathews available in the draft and there isn't.

  2. People need to slow down on how bad this franchise is. The Ducks are not in that bad of a spot.

Getzlaf’s $8 million is off the books and he likely resigns for much less. Perry’s $6 million turn into $2. Murray can move more vets at the draft. If he didn’t get his asking price, why sell low?

Zegras/Drysdale are already NHL roster players. Perrault could walk into this team sooner as a winger who can score. Tracey is the only maybe bust, but still way too early! The kids are mostly coming along as a good core for this team. Groulx also on the way. Another first round pick coming this season, at worst fourth overall.

The Pacific is a shit show! Vegas is in cap hell already. Vancouver/Calgary having bad years. LA is in the same boat as Anaheim. Maybe some better prospects. San Jose sucks! Seattle hopefully takes a few seasons to get rolling.

Ducks may not compete for a cup, but we saw with Niedermayer what a high profile free agent signing can do for a franchise. Ducks need a new coach. I don’t think this rebuild is as much of project as everyone thinks. Good for Bob Murray for sticking to his asking price when he didn’t have to make a move and not selling for less. Ducks are in good shape moving forward.

  3. You don't know that Murray was offered great compensation for Rakell or Manson. Just because other teams were offered doesn't mean we were. If Buffalo didn't trade Hall yesterday for instance they would have been skewered because "if Foligno got a first, Bennett got essentially 2 2nds and Savard got a 1st there's no way that Hall doesn't get at least a first." When in reality they were only offered a 3rd from Boston and bumped it up to a 2nd when Washington offered.

  4. Major missed opportunity. Also, the devaluing of this draft was definitely a chance to stock up on picks for cheaper. At least an opportunity for getting better players deeper in the draft. Just the fact that we again are going to finish bottom 5 and we still have the same roster after the TD is insane

  5. Why can't Backes get in a game ? Why does this coach hate him? Starting these AHL players, did the coach promise them games when he coached the Gulls? Bob Murray said he would play a large role this year….

  6. Crash the Pond: “Bob Murray did nothing at the deadline to make this team better”

    Volkov: “Hold my vodka!”
