Considering the small population of Sweden and Finland I’m impressed by the amount of players in the NHL from these countries.

Interestingly enough, if you do the math I believe Canada’s population versus percentage of players is a higher ratio than Sweden. I just quickly looked at the numbers and did the math in my head so I could be wrong.

It must be really cool to come from a country where hockey is the number one sport. I don’t know where it is here in the US right now…4th or 5th?

I didn’t forget about Canada…I kind of take that for granted.

Between hockey and death metal the population has 1 of 2 great careers.

I’ve always wondered how many players who play in overseas leagues (KHL, SHL, etc.) that could play in the NHL but choose not to.

I know hockey fans are sensitive despite pretending to be tough, but this isn’t good for hockey lol.

yep – Scandinavia & Canada are hockey heartlands.

Are we really amazed that people who have access to ice in their yards and public parks are disproportionately represented in the NHL? **Ice time is expensive.**
