As polarizing as he was in the eyes of the fans, this is the Josh Bailey we should try to remember when we look back at his time with the Isles.

He was only polarizing in the eyes of fans who don’t know very much about hockey.

To understand hockey is to appreciate Josh Bailey.

The end of a career is almost always the worst part, and I think most of us know that and appreciate Josh. Regardless of what we all think, Josh had a nice, successful career that he should be very proud of. If he wants to keep playing, good for him, but I’d love for him to be an isle4life.

soo if I’m correct, he cleared waivers and is now a UFA and still hasn’t been signed… gotta wonder what his future is? I would think someone would be willing to take a flyer on the guy.

He was a reliable player for years. There is a reason he played 1,000 games as an islander.

If he wants to continue playing I hope he gets a chance somewhere. If not then hopefully the team can do something for him in terms of a retirement ceremony if that’s the route he goes…

Before moving down, I remember Islanders fans were excited about Nikita Filatov, and I was hoping for Colin Wilson because of his BU pedigree. Bailey was the right pick after all said and done.
