Athletics Women’s 4 x 100m Relay Final Full Replay from the Olympic Stadium at the London 2012 Olympic Games. — 10 August 2012

Since 1896, athletics has been on the programme of each edition of the Games of the Olympiad. Its presence on the Games programme has allowed its popularity to increase across the world. This popularity was also strengthened by the creation of the IAAF in 1912. Women’s events appeared for the first time at the 1928 Olympic Games in Amsterdam, while the men’s programme was standardised as of the 1932 Games in Los Angeles. Although at the beginning women were authorised to participate in only some events, today their programme is almost identical to that of the men.

  1. This is 1 of my favorite Olympic track moments. And I was watching FloJo, her sister in law Jackie J Kersey, Gail Dievers, Evelyn Ashford and Geen Torrence in their Olympic prime!

  2. Cooking !! Madison 1st leg handing off before Fraiser-Pyrce , 2nd leg Allison Felix great straight , 3rd leg fantastic turn Knight to Carmelita Jeter smoking !

  3. you gotta give it up to the British people, they know how to support and cheer others, the atmosphere was electrifying……London 2012 olympics was epic!!!!!

  4. Every time i watch this i still get blown away how Jeter points at the time as she crosses the line…lol, amazing!!!

  5. American relay teams, men and women, always have enormous talent, great athletes all of them. The issue is sometimes those dreaded baton passes. This race was simply spectacular. The hand-offs were flawless and when an American team can get the baton around the track that smoothly gold medals and world records follow. Awesome performance.

  6. If artificial intelligence was going to design a female track athlete, it would come up with Carmelita Jeter.

  7. This team is awesome and to break this record, everything will have to be perfect and have great speed in each runner

  8. Watched this again and the Jamaican runner on the turn had me praying the US just hurries up and hand it off.

  9. Jeter’s last leg is so inspirational. She knew they had the record the whole way. She was like a freight train.

  10. Almost every handoff from the Jamaicans was slow/delayed. One of their worst technical races
