MA PAROLE ! SAMUEL MONTEMBAULT !

He played really well in front of an inexperienced group of young players and he really stood out most nights. Even when losing he was keeping the guys in the games.
Two seasons ago, when we still had Ducharme, everyone had given up and our poor goalies had to do their best while the team in front of them did the bare minimum to count as an actual opponent. Even then Monty gave it his best.
I think this year, if people stay healthy and the defense evolves through some added maturity and experience, Monty can provide a really steady presence for the team much like Price used to.
If you watch him he’s rarely out of position. Lots of goalies highlight packages show them making daring and dazzling saves but they were only necessary because the goalie was caught out of position and made a desperate attempt.
Monty even in this video seems to never be caught out by his own mistakes or reads, he’s just really tight in his positioning and gives himself the best chance to make the save even when his defense let’s him down.
Monty will be our number one this year and at twenty-six years old he’s got a solid few years ahead of him to be our number one for a while yet.
