Why would we retain 50% of the salary of two guys who are going to walk anyways? Bad trade. We either trade them fully or let them walk, no point in making our cap situation worse.

Even if you forget that we can’t do this cap wise, Backlund and Hanafin are far better than Nylander alone. I would want a decent add from Toronto for that.
