  1. Nashville fan here, Jeannot has also play on the right wing. Loved having this guy on the team but not even mad because of the return.

  2. Kind of happy Poile will be gone and hopefully this trade will be known as his last.
I’m a Nashville fan too, sadden that we have to go down this path but the team isn’t that good so it makes sense

  3. This is basically a CHL style trade. You often see teams loading up for a Mem Cup run and acquiring a key player for a bucket load of draft picks. My team, the Vancouver Giants' just traded their top player to Winnipeg for for two roster players, two prospects, three first round picks and a fourth round pick. Crazy!

  4. The writing is on the wall, and Tampa is going to have a few painful years coming up – in the next 2-3, they will be cellar dwellers for a good part of the last half of this decade.

  5. When people gonna realize all these “overpays” have resulted in 3 straight finals appearances. Keeping our window open with these moves

  6. Foote can't skate and hasn't stepped up since burning the high draft pick on him. We're happy down here, and you're happy up there. All good.

  7. Tampa trying not to look like Covid19 cup winners only. Maroon sucks, put his ass on waivers

  8. I was hoping TB woulda added Domi 50% retained and lafferty for Foote a 2nd a 3rd and maybe a bit more

  9. So… who's getting pushed out of the Tampa rotation to make space for Jeannot? Perry, Maroon, Bellemare, or Namestnikov? I cant really see either one to be honest…

  10. Tampa is clearly happy with the team they have assembled. Why not continue to go all in every year.

  11. I have no idea what Tampa was thinking here. Jeannot is not even having a good year, and they're ditching a good young defenceman and FIVE picks? This makes no sense.

  12. This will 100% be worth it when tanner jeannot scores a hat trick in round 1 game 7 to knock out the leafs 😎

  13. Holy shit…. they just paid a first line stud price for a 4th line grinder…. Did Brisebois take some of the cocaine from the bear before he negotiated this deal???

  14. i dont think they over pay…3rd 4th 5th round rarely make it to the nhl ist more about ahl deph..but on another hand this is exactly the type of player they need in their line up…killhorn cant really absord playoff punishement anymore…so thats a fair price , i bet they will sign him if he deliver this post season

  15. I wouldn't liken this to the Hagel trade but the Goodrow/Coleman moves. Gritty guys that, will be asked to grind other teams down and any goals they score is a bonus. That's what this team was missing. And with Killer being up for a new contract next year they likely plan to sign Jeannot to stay younger.

  16. I'll also add, Tampa doesn't care about picks in 2025. Their chance to win Cups is now. I'd rather they make the moves now than be in permenant mediocre hell while the core is at its prime.

  17. I like Foote, solid depth guy. He isn't a star player (yet). He wasn't getting the minutes in Tampa that he needed to shine, and this year was passed over for a guy (Nick Perbix) who got drafted by Tampa in the same year but about ~100 picks later who is already signed to a new cheap deal. He is a free agent at the end of the year so they got something for him at the very least.

  18. Tampa going to Tampa I don’t question what Bridebois does nor am I surprised but when you have a shot a dynasty you have to shoot your shot and worry about the future later

  19. Lightning fan here with my 2 cents.

Easy to say it's an overpay, because it probably is. That being said, tampa pro scouts know how to deliver, even if the cost is high. Coleman, Goodrow, Hagel, etc.

Tanner Jeannot would assumably take 3rd line with Colton and Paul, 90 (Namestikov) has been a ghost since acquiring him, least impactful player on the line. Tampa won't touch the school bus line, too effective and they're tried and true.

I'm very excited to see the addition, JBB was right on this acquisition IMO because we have been needing a big and hard hitting forward to round out our team, our team has been getting dumped and honestly when I watch them play 90 spends more time getting up off the ice than skating on it.
