    As a fan I really hate 8 year deals. Even for Star players. But then I think about it if I were a player and I had kids and a wife and how bad it would suck for your family life to move around every 4 years. I don’t see the 8s going anywhere though. If anything we will see more of them as more expansions happen.

    Compher is gunna do well in Detroit. I think he’s gunna add some toughness for them. I’m sad he’s leaving colorado and I think it’s probably detroits offer that convinced him to leave cause no way would he be getting paid that much here. But it’s kinda shocking he left. Word was they were close to a deal with him to resign with colorado and for me if I were a player I’d care infinitely more about a cup run which colorado is way closer to than the wings because then I’d be getting paid even fuckin more after that. But I get it cause there are no certainties with their careers so they have to make the money while they can because once they aren’t “useful” anymore they’re tossed out like garbage unless they’re one of the fortunate few “elite” players like gretsky or Bedard who will never have to worry about going broke or dealing with regular life as a regular human.
