First of the 3 major RFAs to be signed.

Mixed opinions on this one. On one hand, that AAV for York is a major steal, which is obviously great news no matter what. On the other hand, if York’s agent and the market is valuing him that lowly, I think there could have been a chance to get a much bigger steal on him on a longer term deal. Either way, it’s nice to see our GM sign a guy at below market value instead of the egregious overpays that littered the entire Fletcher era

Yes, nice deal. Let him prove himself.

Great deal. We’ll shed some contracts in two years and if he earns it, can see him get a nice raise then

Great value… but in a time where we don’t plan to win. Best case is he breaks out in a big way these next two seasons, but then you’ll wish you signed him long term when you’re negotiating in 2025. Hopefully he does breakout, and the cap indeed jumps up big, and we continue to shed bad contracts so that it’s all a none issue.

Frost and York were no brainer bridge guys given small sample size. If both earn huge deals then thats a good problem to have. We need as much high end talent as possible. Like York becoming a top pair guy and Frost a 2C would be massive developments.

As for Tippett I would love to sign to like 4 year 4.5 mil deal. But not sure that would be smart for Tippett.

For Cates id look to lock up long term. Theres no risk with him. As an elite defensive forward who plays all situations and multiple positions he will be really valuable even when not scoring. Always going to be a really valuable player.

Id try to give him a deal like Laughtons at 5 yrs x 3 mil and would be wiling to go a fair bit higher on the cap hit.

He was like a 4 mil player this past year. Id be willing to go up to like 3.8/3.9 on long term deal.

Not sure how much I’d trust this source. I’m not gonna say he’s wrong but in the replies he’s almost making a joke out of it and it kinda sounds like he’s imitating some other insiders (who granted, don’t really know what they’re talking about). We’ll see though, I hope he’s right because that’s solid value.

Don’t believe it until it’s reported by someone more reputable, so maybe wanna-be breaking news guys for the Flyers and they’ve been striking out for a bit now.

    There’s a 0% chance he’d sign that contract.

Oh shit, the guy reporting this is my cousin 😂 I know he’s done a lot of work cultivating relationships w/I the franchise and he said info comes direct from a family member of Cam. Should be official tomorrow.
