Respect to Looch. People complain when players avoid tough questions. I guess they also complain when they try to answer them honestly.

I don’t disagree. Another factor is the god damned pressure of playing in a Canadian market. The fans demand a cup every year. Every fan knows more than everyone involved and I’m sure they hear about it everywhere they go.

Gaudreau in Columbus could go to literally anywhere wearing a gaudreau jersey and probably wouldn’t get recognized. Dude can just earn his millions and enjoy life. I don’t blame him one bit for doing what he did.

I fucking hate him for doing it but I get it. I’d probably have done the same thing. Imagine how much shit huby gets next offseason after another shit year on a nightmare contract for everyone but him.

Add all the other factors Looch mentioned. An old barn. A cold room. A cold city 7/12 months of the year. The killer travel. It all sucks. Tkachuk is in his mid 20’s and he’s locked down to play in Florida for the rest of his career probably. Retiring in sunny Florida at 40. They’re living the dream and we hate them for it.

I love Lucic’s honesty. But if I see this one more time I’m campaigning for a mega thread where we post this quote ad nausium.

How many times is this going to get reposted?

Old rink sure, but I’ll ride for the city any day of the week. It punches above its weight class in basically every category. Anyone who thinks there’s nothing to do in Calgary just isn’t trying.

I mean if all you want to do in your days off is go to NBA or MLB games, then yeah I guess you’ll be disappointed but…could it be possible that there’s more to life than pro sports?
