  1. Imo he signs Florida with Maurice cheap contract like Staals did. Or maybe he is replacement for Perry in Tampa.
Duchene should sign 1yr In winnipeg if Scheifele and PLD arnt here rack up points with Ehlers,Connor,Morrissey,Villardi ect and sign one last contract 2024.

  2. Man, Winnipeg is going to lose Hellebuck, now Wheeler and didn't Sheifele say he wanted out? Winnipeg is really gonna suck here real soon.

  3. I know it’s coming but I’m very sad😢. Thank you Wheeler for everything you’ve done for the Jets and our city. I sincerely wish you and your family all the best in the future ❤

  4. Florida has a shot to win the cup next year, I say he signs a dirt cheap contract and hopefully wins the cup with Maurice.

  5. The greatest Jet in 2.0 history so far! Best of luck to him wherever he goes, hopefully he can win the stanley cup that he never got with us! Maybe we'll retire his number as a tribute to the great things he's accomplished with us!

  6. I have followed the Jets since the 80s. Through Selanne being traded, the team leaving, the team coming back, the NHL roster that had 8 actual NHL players, and the rest were awful with no prospects in the pipeline. To the Draft and Develop, etc.

Blake was a great player but a terrible leader. To me it's not that he's a bad person or a bad player, some people aren't leaders and some people don't learn how to lead. Blake did what he thought was right, and what he knew how to do but he wasn't Ladd.
I didn't realize it at first when he was given the "C" but it quickly began to naw at me that the decision wasn't a good one. Wheeler was always in shape and always gave 110% and led by example and that was good. But leadership is more than that and the things he lacked in this area showed.

I will miss Wheeler and I wish him and his family the best. I hope he does get to raise the cup with a team, I really do.
However, I am a Winnipeg Jets fan and always will be and that part of me saw the destruction his Captaincy brought.

I don't know all the details of exactly what happened but if you listen to Statsny, Hayes, Laine, Coach Maurice, etc, and Wheeler himself a theme starts to emerge that wasn't good.
As a Jets fan, I am very happy that the organization is turning the page this summer on some players and I am excited to see the new young blood play for the Jets.

If I were to pick the next "C" I think JMO would be my pick.

    GO JETS GO!
