I am hard core leafs fan but they still have the stupid give aways. plus no sign of a killer instinct. There needs to be a big mind shift in the dressing room.
The Leafs problem is the top end talent! They are soft as butter and in the playoffs NONE of the so called big 4 comes through when then need them! Also the Leafs almost never take the man! In their own end, they just run around chasing people! The good playoff teams break the cycle by taking the man out of the play., the Leafs are tiny and soft on the back end and almost never do this. Also if you compare the Leafs forecheck to other REAL contenders the Leafs are again SOFT and late to the forecheck, Dufus just doesn't get it! The old Leafs teams under Conn Smythe's mantra "If you can't beat 'em in the alley, you can't beat 'em on the ice" still holds true!!!
When it comes to Toronto only one thing matters to me, they make the playoffs and the get knocked out in the first round. Preferably in the most heartbreaking way possible.
The Leafs have an advantage over Boston and Tampa. Not many of their players have been through a long playoff grind. It take a toll.
I say this now Toronto is a better team going down the stretch of the regular season and the first round of the playoffs Go Leafs Go
This is all in vain… They can't compete against Boston. Wasting the future for a chance to win a round is simply futile.
Again east conference rounds will be more entertaining then the playoffs

I'll believe it when I see it. On paper they've been a powerful team but goaltending and not great defense will likely be their downfall even if they get out of the first round.

Leafs get knocked out every time in 1st round.
So the Leafs are trading away first rounders for a bunch of SLUGS and the Rangers get Kane two draft picks to Chicago — a 2023 second-round pick, which carries conditions to improve to a first-round selection, as well as a 2023 fourth-round pick. The 2023 second-round pick will become a first-rounder if the Rangers make the Eastern Conference finals. I think we can see that DUFUS NEEDS TO GO!!!!

The Leafs are different every year, and it never fails to entertain me when they get beaten in the first round.

Leafs have all the pieces a cup champion would need, they're stacked offensively, stacked defensively now, and goaltending has been good with Samsonov, very deep team. Fact is the seeding guarantees that multiple elite teams won't make it past round 1.

The NHL playoff format is beyond stupid. You know who doesn't make that mistake? The NFL. It'd be like the Bengals or Bills playing the Chiefs in the first round every year. Sounds ridiculous, doesn't it? Welcome to the idiocy of the NHL.

i've listened to Ray since 2000. He's good. But I like him a lot better here on chit chat, then as a Colour guy. Same with McGUIRE… I think when they are not pressured by time they can relax and let the info come out. Sometimes the colour guy knows less but does a better job.
