I think we’re just fine with Monty and Allen for this season and next season. By then we should have a better idea if we need to acquire a goalie to be a #1 or perhaps a backup for Monty. No hurry for now

They don't need a goalie right now. The problem is defense, they're young, yet Eddy and Savard was weakest playing against top opponents. Then lack of defensive support from forwards. A problem right now is down the center when Monahan isn't there, lack of scoring talent, forward defensive support. .

A strange thing about this offseason is that I am so far underwhelmed but not disappointed. Nothing great, but nothing objectively bad either. Reinbacher is a fine addition to the team – no wow factor, but after learning more about him I think he'll eventually become a very valuable player for the team. Some of the other picks were odd (Florian Xhekaj though I would have been okay had he been picked later), but they didn't make the team worse either. Getting Newhook and trading Edmundson for what they got in return is likely as good as they could get this year. So a "meh" summer so far and we still have so many other young players to be excited about, meaning I'm generally happy with the future of this team.
