  1. Using your baseball analogies, it’s more like a strikeout and the catcher dropped the third strike and you’re running to first. Will the catcher be able to throw you out at first, we’ll see

  2. I'm sorry, but I definitely don't see Detroit making the playoffs. They sold Hronek, Bertuzzi, Sundqvist last year. In my opinion, that's Yzerman recognizing that his rebuild isn't going as planned and he didn't have the elements to win long-term, so he's extending his losing years in hope of getting a lottery pick at some point. The Copp and Compher contracts are the type of contracts that will become cheap when the cap goes up, so they're longer term high value assets. Everything else he's added is short term, to be moved at any quality offer.

Boston and TB are on the down hill and will have to retool after their losses, so there's definitely a spot for Buffalo or Ottawa to grab. Detroit just isn't in that category of team & the habs are 1-2 years away from being wild card contenders.

  3. Ottawa gave up 1st, 2nd, and 3rd draft picks for the Cat… and they received 1st, 3rd (Sebrango), 4th, and 7th (Kubalik) round draft picks.

What makes or breaks this is… draft picks. How they pan out.

  4. I like both the Wings and the Sens. Hope both teams improve this season. Thanks for replacing Sportsnet and TSN. Finally, a place where good Ontario hockey is discussed. Glad to be here.

  5. This is a good trade for Ottawa. Save a bunch of money against the cap, recoup most of the assets. A debrincat contract never would have worked anyway. Most important thing they diddnt bring back any longer term money

  6. Send that first round pick, fourth round pick and a prospect to Philly for Konecey and i'd love the trade.
