I was pretty done with Benson for quite a while, but at some point last season I got the feeling he gave up "wanna-being Leon Draisaitl" and embraced "being Matt Hendricks" and I actually didn't mind that. I think that his potential is in knocking-off Devin Shore or mayyyyyyybe Derick Ryan when their contracts expire next year.
How about JP$3 to Carolina for J Fast $2 and a second-round pick. JP would slot in nicely on the right on Car, as Cul has too many RW's already. That would give us some wiggle room to then maybe off Mcloed a 3 year deal for $5 Million. Thoughts?
What if Edmonton traded say A prospect/Pick to New Jersey, for Jonathan Bernier. He's on LTIR and worth 4 Million… that could be something to get the juices flowing.

As of right now. Benson is 2nd/3rd line AHL player. Wish the best for him but I just can’t see him as an NHL player.

Benny is smart, skilled w the puck … but has C- skating abilities in the NHL. I hope he is working on that throughout the summer.

Last chance for Benson for sure. McLeod showed a lot of potential last season and I’m looking forward to see him grow further.
