Preds fan….saw the buyout this morning, and honestly, I dont know wtf they're doing anymore. Are we going into full rebuild mode? That would mean trading Saros and it's kinda late after the draft to consider that; although, I'd never expect GMBT to not build his team from the net out with a Vezina-caliber netminder in the first place. Aside from Duchey's first few abysmal years here, he's posted 142 points in the last 149 games for this team and they opt for a cap hit the next six years so he can play elsewhere?!!! 😵😵 I'm still reeling from the nuisance of Turris's buyout, but this one is beyond strange at a whole other level. Joey was a cap dump before the draft…understandable…had a decent year the previous season and yet that injury with an overall downward trajectory makes sense. This one…I dont get it. As a STH of 23 years, I'm worried that we are striving for "the Predator Way"…the gritty, frustrating, and still offensively anemic dump and chase of the old Trotz era.

Duchene left Colorado years ago because he wanted to play "playoff hockey," based on his choices of teams to do that with since then, I would assume he's signing with Arizona next.

What is Nashville doing? They got rid of their top two centers for nothing in return but cap space for a team that is rebuilding at this point? It might make some sense if they had plans to bring in a major deal to put them over the top but they are no where near that level. Could they really not get anything for Duchene?

Will give David Poile credit, he’s amazing at identifying elite talent for the draft. The list is very long of solid/superstar talent.
