Buffalo. Detroit, Ottawa. Detroit passes Ottawa this season. Raymond is going to take a step this year, the defense is better and they actually have backup goalies. Husso’s problem last season was playing too much. Edvinsson will also be a top four d-man by the end of the season.

They haven’t had issues scoring? You guys are coping. Detroit got significantly better and their rebuild isn’t done. Ottawas rebuild was supposed to be done and they still missed playoffs. Cope harder.
If Ottawa is miles ahead of Detroit in their rebuild…then how come Ottawa finished just 6pts ahead of Detroit in the standings even while Detroit was a TDL seller? Yzerman paid for Debrincat with the picks he got from flipping Bertuzzi at the deadline. Then he flipped Hronek and used the pick to draft Hronek's replacement at #17. The Red Wings then declined rapidly. Perhaps the better question given all this is…what's wrong with Ottawa? They weren't selling at the trade deadline…yet they missed the playoffs by the same margin as the separation they wound up with between them and Detroit. While the top six in Ottawa is quite good, their bottom six depth is unimpressive. Further, I don't see Korpisalo/Forsberg(and his recovering knee) as much of a step up in net from Husso/Reimer…which could easily turn into Husso/Lyon at any point.
No Detroit isn't likely a playoff team as they stand…and neither is Ottawa imo. I see Ottawa as one more Josh Norris shoulder injury and/or one more inconsistent Korpisalo performance away from yet another season without a playoff spot.

What do to Ottawa and Toronto locked on losers know about the Red Wings. I will tell you not much. Hey locked on podcast who picked theses two smart move not.
I see Ottawa and Buffalo being around the same, with Detroit a bit behind. Ottawa starting the season with a healthy D core and all of their offensive core players coming back more mature. Also, I can see Brady, Timmy, Claude, Batherson, Norris all getting 30 goals or more. Not many teams have a better top 4 on D than Ottawa at the moment. The proof will be if Ottawa can have a strong start to the season and if the goaltending works out. Also, there was nothing better than Brady calling out the entire Wings team last year and none of them wanted it, and their season ended then and there. Their players are soft. Can't wait to see Brady in the playoffs, and hope it's this year. Cheers!
Detroit is much deeper than Ottawa.
Can we level set a bit. The wings rebuild didn't start until 2022. Holland never committed to a rebuild and tried to retool. Yzerman inherited a team with no prosepects or cap space. It took two seasons to move out bad contracts. I do agree Yzerman's performance in the draft lottery has been atrocious!
