  1. but but but Marner makes more booooooooooooooooooooooooooo hoooooooooooooooooooo

    it's soooooo hard to be a Leafs fan, you guys don't even know

  2. Point is one of the best players in the game, arguably. However, what’s beyond argument is the fact that the Lightning are the best team in the league

  3. Hoping Barkov signs the same deal and we get a decade of the battle for Florida where it matters.

  4. I was just gonna bring up that player and then you said “don’t mention it” good timing

  5. I am so sad to see Kampf go (also glad to see him Toronto bc I'll still get to see a lot of his play). He's a very smart defensive forward who can kill penalties, win faceoffs and keep attackers to the outside. This is a very risk free signing imo

  6. Remember when people were saying they didn't like Point's last contract? I wonder what happened to those people.

  7. Oooo oilers snub…. They make 4 big signings and trades and not one mentioned

  8. Werenski: The insanity. The insanity of the differences between the 'haves' and 'have nots', is f'ing ridiculous! Example:
    Zach Werenski – 9.53 Mil.
    Brendan Smith – 800 K
    Difference = 11.9125 x value.
    ANYONE can tell me that Werenski is WORTH 12 x the value, IN ANY SENSE, than Smith, as a hockey player? Points – Smith scores 15 ~ 20 Pts on average a season. Werenski is going to score (17 x 12) = 204 Pts ???? Does Werenski skate 12 times better than Smith? Pure defense! Smith is 12 times WORSE a defenseman than Werenski, defending a 2 on 1? Werenski is 12 times as physical as Smith? He's 12 times less injured? OF COURSE NOT! These comparables are COMPLETELY INSANE… And if I were most of the NHLPA membership, I wouldn't be happy, when ALL these 1 Mil. and less contracts are being forced on us, so that a handful of players can get 8~10 Mil $$ deals, suggesting THEY'RE 10 ~ 12 times BETTER HOCKEY PLAYERS than we are. It is so insulting, I don't understand how there's not already been an internal revolution in the NHLPA.

    An age old argument has been: The superstars and their salaries help to drive EVERYONE'S salaries up! Well, that argument is OBVIOUSLY not applying anymore, on average, in this Cap era.

    If someone told me they were TWICE the hockey player I was, and I was an NHL player at any level, then I'd have to say that that player would have to be PRETTY DAMN GOOD. If they said they were 3 times the player I was, I would find it hard to believe, unless I was looking at a Sidney Crosby, or the like. And appropriately, I would not begrudge the SUPERSTARS being paid 3 times my salary, or the star players (top 6 forwards, top 4 D, starting G) being paid 2 times my salary. But for me to be a bottom 6 forward in The NHL, and being told the guy sitting next to me thinks (and is getting paid as) he's 10 times, 11 times, 12 times more talented than I am, then … I'm not happy.
