Hockey Central at Noon looks at the fine Josh Morrissey received for his hit against T.J. Oshie and how it shows the difficulty of choosing between suspensions and fines for the NHL Player Safety department.

Hi
The fine was the right call
Lol the players safety is a joke lol. I bet if that was Cry baby Crosby he would get suspended. This just indicates you can slam someone and give them a concussion and only get a fine.
Oh this comment section will go over smoothly
I don't understand how people compare this to the pettersson slamdunk and say they are the exact same. I can agree more with Burke on this. Yes this was a slam, and yea he got hurt and it was ugly play, and i don't want these plays in the game. They have nothing with hockey to do. But what happened to pettersson was not the same as this, matheson did it 100% on purpose and because he was angry and wanted to get revenge for getting deked. morrissey did not do this on purpose, it looks like they had a hit, oshies arm gets locked up in morrisseys and then oshie trips backwards taking morrisey with him and getting morriseys weight over himself. I don't know who is locking whos arm up in this situation but this more like an accident too me, still morrisey could probably taken another type of hit when they first had contact and this would have ended well. because of that i'm okay with him getting an fine for this hit but i would also been okay if this was an suspension as i think that the matheson suspension was too few games.
How can you guys say it was “just a battle”? He bodied Oshie off the puck and that’s when he should’ve let go. Instead, he took two hands and actually slammed Oshie back onto the ice. Like Matheson, Morrissey could’ve let go.
All in all, he should’ve gotten two games.
Should we just ban hitting all together? It just seems that anytime there's a big clean hit there's a fight and every hit that happens we have to over-analyze it so why not just make it easy and ban hitting all together I know that's not what people want but my God might as well
Why do they even have Burke talking on this show? This is a guy who traded Tyler arguing and dougie Hamilton for phill kessel
I sure as hell would never go to the rink to watch one of these players but would pay to watch the other. If you need to watch the nonskill guys set up an arm wrestling league or kickboxing.
Morrissey leg whipped him no???
Even when NHL tries to step up like with the Wilson suspension an outside arbiter is able to shorten it. There is another precedent that will affect future suspensions.
I think body slams should be allowed.. but hey wwe on ice
The liberal hockey league wants to fill the seats with snowflakes. Idiots!!!
these guys are idiots. a body slam is not "finishing a check "
This to me is just fixing a wrong, that 2 game suspension wasn't a good ruling and set a bad precedent.
Well let the bodies hit the floor!
So let’s see if I get this right…
2 game suspension if you slam a lightweight but just a fine if you pick on a bigger guy..?
Wow the NHL is being PUSSIFIED
100% agree with burke
Them leafs net boys are at it again.
Another pathetic handling of injury by the NHL. The continual joke… It should have been a two game suspension. Malkin should've been suspended a game. These issues are being consistently mishandled and each time, they create more confusion and questions. The other night, Tom Wilson scored a goal and then served a penalty for the goal he just scored. HOW? Is it a goal or isn't it? OH. IT'S A GOAL??? HOW IS IT A PENALTY TOO? What are the Refs smoking!?
I 100% agree! Morrissey’s hit was part of a continuous play compared to Matheson! The fine was perfect!
