06-07, how about the 70's when us kids were watching teams like the Flyers, it was rock and sock em hockey and we definitely tried to keep our heads up.
So the organization brought in some random guy that will never ever play in an NHL game and he wiped out one of their good young prospects

Eric Lindros was bad for this, too. Always with his head down. Lindros suffered 6 concussions from 1998 to 2000 and retired from the NHL in 2007
Rosey talking about development camp as a platform to stand out to the higher ups. Exactly why the AHL is such an old-school league, The way Roni was skating up the middle if he ran into a pole the same result would have happened. That D man could have been malicious with intent however he sort of just made himself a rock in the stream.
Big open ice hits are a skill that needs showcased.

Kyle Dubas ruined this franchise drafting all these soft guys. Unfortunately Toronto won't turn this shit ship around until they learn this lesson.
Totally agree with Jay on this, hate to see Hirvonen (or any player) get laid out in a development camp like that, but that was on him.
Dillngham didn't do anything extra on that, he was suppose to do his job as a defender.
Seems like Hirvonen thought for a moment he was playing against the Leafs where they just roll out the red carpet for opposing players to enter their zone.
Wishing Hirvonen quick and full recovery, and a lesson learn.
Another thought … I think I'd rather get hit like that at a developmental camp (and learn my lesson) as oppose to later at a traning camp or the NHL where guys are bigger, stronger, and they're really after you.
Everyone learned that lesson at one point or another. I hope the young man is ok and makes the team someday.
