Magnificent and thank you!
I too was taught at Golf tec to keep my club pointing to the sky after impact, but went against everything I learned as well. The old way was toe up on backswing at hip high then toe up on follow through to waist high. Now it’s keep the face angle same as spine angle on backswing waist high. My release was like yours but was taught not to do that. But thanks for showing me that it’s ok to be rolling the left wrist and will be practicing those drill. Thanks from Canada 🇨🇦
Interlocking grip makes it easier?
The amateur pictures you show at the beginning are very familiar. My swing looks like those. That left elbow working its way in and not extending like the pros. The problem is correcting it. For another video I suggest you go into exactly why that is. I have tried drills similar to what you have here but still the same swing on the course. I think the reason is there is a root cause of the problem. But that is not really the emphasis in this video. There is something more than rotating that lead left wrist needed to correct the problem. Otherwise I would have corrected it a long time ago. But what that root cause is that can be corrected so that the left arm is now able to extend rather than the left arm 'collapsing' and the elbow therefore working its way up and is the enigma I would like to solve! Thanks though for the video!
Try to hit a high ball from the tee with the putter. With this relaese it works.
Vertical mixed with some roll. Mostly radial and extension of lead wrist from 7-9
First time watching here from Iceland….. veeeeery good video buddy ;))))) Will for sure share this with the thousands of players on my golf page over here….. thank you.
Great video, Sir!
Eddie to the moon !! Aber: mach doch deutsche Untertitel bitte.Du sprichst doch fluently german 😊wäre toll ,danke !!!
A video you did previously on hip rotation changed my practice and my game completely and is now part of the foundation of my practice , so thanks for that 👍.
I’m not sure if I’m missing something but it seems like everyone puts a load of emphasis on the lead hand / arm .
I have no problem with my release or hands in the swing and can pretty much open or close the face as I feel fit , but my lead arm definitely follows , albeit from in front and it’s totally involved but it’s not in control ..
is this wrong ?
What is you are think of the new GEM swing aid?
Do you give lessons to adults e.g. during a summar camp? I really like your videos and your swing!
Good video. I like the anti handle dragging instruction.
Nice golf
totally confused…. the toe should point up after impact like you mention but when you use the pointer on the face…. the toe no longer points up
Needed this video. Thank you!
So glad that sites like this and AMG are acknowledging the reality of having the hands playing a big part in releasing the club.
You lost me when you said Jack Nicklaus was the greatest player of all time 🙂 only joking, great video and instruction
I stumbled upon this left wrist action recently – purely by accident – while I was hitting a few of the best drives that I have ever hit in my life. Sadly, I discounted it almost immediately and reverted back to my old flawed ways; because I thought I was "flipping." Thank you for clarifying so succinctly that what I was doing was actually a good thing. It almost felt like a was hitting 250 yard flop shots. EFFORTLESSLY!
I like to simplify it a lot more than what you're trying to have people do into the finish. Focus on what you're doing before the ball impact and just be ready and comfortable with where it ends up. You're not doing anything out there. Just let it be.
Is this more of a throw style release?
I have a personal problem with this focus on the follow thru or how it is explained. From competing in tennis, pronating is a kind of snap of the wrist to add power to the forehand stroke. When applied to golf, using the wrist to add power requires us amateurs to have very good timing on the fast down swing. If I release lagging the head (to add compression) too soon, the head will hit fat on the ground before the ball.
I sliced for years because I didn' learned this vital piece of the puzzle. I always thought u supposed to hold the position and turned. If you guys worked on this u will definitely see big improvement in your ball flights. Many instruction videos focused on everything but this part.
Thank you
It is also a great way to hit a hook!
I consume alot of videos.
I think Craig has the best transition I’ve seen, weight moving forward right before the backswing ends.
That lead wrist bending alittle, is that what squares the club?
My height and weight is similar to Craig’s. Now if I could just swing like him….
I’ll be in touch soon. 🤜
Would like to see ball flight from behind. Coupled with data from GC Quad or similar? Like what you say re creating a right side dominant miss but your early hip rotation and crossing those wrists look like the ball is going to draw.
Great job Craig……Dan Shaugher (mike austin) was teaching this to Mike Dunaway 25 years ago!! People just don't listen for some reason.
Great, thanks
Hey Craig , hope alls good, I'm still a big fan of getting you in the PGA booth talking about these exercises to improve the over all golfers around the world, I believe your the best teacher out there, this concept would definitely work!! Thanks as always for sharing your knowledge!! Honesty goes a long way in this game !!
The release is by far the most polarizing swing technique. It’s all over the place
Really great instruction! And a great swing!
Little confused
why is something that you make look so easy so hard! great video, answers a lot of questions
If the ball is already off the face and traveling in the air…. Then how does it make a difference? The real difference is everything that is happening before you strike the ball.
Mr Hanson I are awesome as always. I cannot recommend folks watch this guy enough.
I have a question I hope you can help me with.
I have two daughters. One has a bit faster swing speed but hits it way further than her sister, more than the swing speed.
I notice the longer one gets her spin in the low to mid 2000s but the shorter hitter is in the 3000s.
We are doing everything to get her hitting up more and less dynamic loft and better contact spots but even when she does she still gets more spin than desired.
So the question is if you believe moving weights forward on a driver will produce less spin. I heard someone from golf tech say that. He mentioned it makes the club less forgiving but I don’t think that would be an issue for her.
What do you think ?
Unfortunately they don’t have drivers with weights to move around. Or anything else.
