Iโm going to make a bet and say I think Nylander is gone before the start of the season. With all the talk surrounding him, rumours have to be somewhat accurate I would think. Business wise it makes the most sense to trade him at his highest value. If Toronto can land a top 4 rugged stay at home D man, or a top 9 gritty goal scorer to add to the mix now at the expense of Willy, well Iโm sorry itโs business and Iโm trying to make my overall team better and itโs been fun, enjoy Calgary! Trading for Karlsson would be an odd move for the leafs.. they just signed Klinkberg, and they're already way over the cap
Konecny had one 30 goal year and he's worth more than Debrincat?
I don't even want him as a Leafs can, dude is like Hyman light and we let him walk. Giving up assets for a winger on Toronto? Leafs need a 3C, goaltender and maybe a defenseman
Zero sense to turn assets on a winger, especially one that is mid like Travis. 3 assests to get Konecny on our 2nd PP unit. Lol.
Why do Canadian teams have so many cap problems? They need to get some better control from whomever is making player salary decisions. How can Montreal, a non-play off team. be so cap short?

Alex the Ruski is very nasty drunk. With all the charges they piled onto him, when did using a "racial slur" become a crime or is that just part of the Bettman's NHL criminal code? Evander Kane is a guy with a long history of being a problem child despite being a very, very good hockey player who got another chance to straignten out his career and play with ( often on the same line) arguably the best two players in the NHL in McDavid and Draisaitl. He found a home in Edmonton and appeared to have found a happy home there. What is this all about now? You have to wonder…
He will not get jail time he will just get counselling and probation does not sound that bad just a drunken outburst seen worse and get nothing
….Nylander is a point per game winger who doesn't play defense…nothing great with current NHL with elevated scoring…and he has played with high end centers….

Nylander not worth more then 8.5 and would not give him that would rather trade him for top defenceman
I can't see Sharks take back salary, and I can see the Leafs taking on another bad contract. If their going to trade Nylander, it would be a 3 team deal, that Leafs would flip picks and prospects to the Sharks for Karlsson, Sharks to retain and the broker to retain, that would even make Nylander even more expense then Karlsson as a rental or if he signs extension with a new team. Now you have a a hole on the wing. The leafs tried to out score their problems before, and now they may have to again but without a stating goalie. Trade him to the Hawks for Raddysh, Murphy and 1st or 2x 2nd, flip those picks for a goalie if Samsonov doesn't sign or another defensemen Karlsson would be chased out of town for what lacks i defense play
I dont know if Trading for Karlsson would be the best decision for Toronto. But hey that is just my opinion. That would just be a odd pairing in my opinion and also i believe the leafs need more gritty defensive players and grinder type players at the Blue Line.

Karlsson makes no Sence anymore unless Reilly is going but he has no move. Dont need 3 offensive defender who all arnt good in there own end.
We could've given up no assets to keep Bunting, he's cheaper than konecny and has similar points potential. Also konecny will want raise after these 2 remaining seasons on his current contract.
There is no way the leafs get karlsson there to close to the cap
Leafs have to trade Nylander. He'll be 28 at the start of his next contract. Committing $9mil dollars/year for the next 8 years is a terrible decision.
You are overrating Konecy something fierce. Karslon not so much. But Konecy. Put down the Flyer kool aide.
