Dave gets James’ thoughts on his favourite move from the offseason so far and if there are any free agents that the team could target or if a trade is the better avenue to improving the roster. Dave and James look at players they would entertain in a deal for the Leafs. To end the show, Dave gets James’ thoughts on the NHL storyline he’s been following the most this offseason and if the league should adopt its own version of the NBA’s Summer League.

    Trading expensive players (like Core 3) is not easy, as a lot of teams have Cap space but no money. I believe that there are only 8 teams who have active players making $10 Million or more.

    Signing Dumba would be dumb! He’s horrible defensively, and he can’t play that heavy game anymore. There’s a reason why he’s still unsigned.

    Great Show as Usual Guys!! Was listening to it in the SAUNA!!! Ok guys you missed on a Clydesdale who made the Leaf forwards life miserable — Joel Edmundson would have looked amzing in a Leaf Uniform… Big Strong… all it cost Washington was a 3rd Rounder and 50% retained salary. Exactly the type of player Leafs need–

    When JT contract is over in 2 seasons time the LEAFS will not sign him back …Treliving will DEFINITELY NOT …JT will be SLOWER than hell like he has been the last 2 seasons …SEE if i'm right or not …IF it was DUBAS signing he would probably give him a 5 year deal 10 mil per year , BUT there is a NEW SHERIFF in TO now name is Treliving

    Brodie isn't the issue..he's still one of their best D. Moving him to just bring in Dumba makes no sense. Plus, the cap will only increase $3-$5M a year, so the thought that if you wait you'll get a lot more is total bs. That $3-$5M/yr needs to be distributed throughout the team and any new contracts. Therefore the $ increase you can really give any one player is be nominal. So no one is going to hit a major homerun over what they're getting offered now.

    dumba is tyson barrie 2.0, but can through the odd big hit. you already have klingberg so you get worse defensively. brodie way better on the defense end.

    So Karlsson won a Norris with a 100+ point season and he's untradeable at 11 million but maybe Nylander might be worth 10 million down the line because he might score 40 goals every year but he's only scored 40 one time.

    Maybe you two should do a podcast reviewing buffets.
