  1. Subban is not captain material. Even if he was/is the best player on a team he was never captain material. And I like the guy.

  2. PK's decision to make that donation was his own choice, it had nothing to do with the Canadiens…this is why no management or coaches were there.

  3. It's so crazy…has a young black man when I was at school they use to call me a negative leader just because i was questioning things when it didn't make sense for me. PK Subban in the comments is being called selfish and flamboyant because he has personality. Whenever a black man is not a yes man he's a problem.

  4. To bad things turned out like they did for PK Subban.
He played with passion for his team in montreal I used to think what if they named him Captain of the Montreal Canadiens! the Buzz in this city šŸšŸ‘ and also his wonderful contributionšŸ’²with his name if they had named him Captain mrs. Beliveau would have been šŸ˜ŠšŸ˜Š ā¤

  5. Any truth to the alleged Michel Therrien saying "Pacioretty's the worst captain"? Taking into account it was coming from the unethical pundit Michel Villeneuve.

  6. Laraque is completely misinformed about the donation. It was not a big thing, just another Subban gig used to blow his own horn. The fact is Subban NEVER donated a penny of his own money to this hospital foundation. It was just a PR stunt and that's why management didn't show up.

  7. Montreal mismanagement has sunk this club to where it is. 9 years into a 5 year plan….Firing a competent coach to cover up an incompetent GM.

  8. Pacioretty was not captain material and neither would Subban if he was named captain. Takes certain kind of temperament to be captain that I don't believe neither of them had. Being star player of team should not automatically make you captain. Bobby Orr as great as he was not captain of Bruins.

  9. If PK was such a revered guy, how ironic that he wore out his welcome in Nashville in a short period of time. Too much hype. Great skill once he made the team in Montreal, but he was not the same player (skill wise) in Nashville. I think it hurt his ego immensely when he was traded out of Nashville. To end up in New Jersey is kinda sad. I always thought he might come full circle and play one final season in Montreal. But not with Bergy still in as GM. No way.

  10. As long as therrien was behind that bench subban would never be captain . Was subban such a bad player ? Iā€™d say No but he was quite eccentric for the whole organization I liked what he did for the childrenā€™s hospital loved what he did for those kids

  11. It was such a shame that Subban was traded, perhaps he would have had a hall of fame career if he stayed

  12. Disagree with Laraque. What PK Subban does on his personal time had NOTHING to do with the Canadiens. The Canadiens need to get over themselves and not look to capitalize off of the good deeds of its employees.

  13. It's no secret that PK's flamboyant antics weren't popular among the players in the dressing room. Unfortunately he was cancer and I was very happy to see him go. It was clear by that point that he wasn't going to get anywhere near Norris status. Interesting how that trade turned out, with Subban playing just one year more than Weber even with a four year age difference. Vegas is paying Weber until 2026.

One of Bergevin's high points with the organization.
