DeAngelo is the first player to be bought out twice
As a Lightning fan I got a bad feeling that the Jeannot trade will be Brisebois biggest blunder. Hopefully Jeannot can turn it around this season because he looked lost last season. Not only has Jeannot cost us a slew of draft picks but he has also cost us Ross Colton who was a fantastic depth player. Watch Colton flourish in Colorado like Marchessault did in Vegas and Verhaeghe did with Florida, two other ex-Lightning players we let walk because of bad contracts & cap issues.
Tampa needs Jeannot to deliver as a second liner. If he does, that's cheap, if he doesn't, they are in trouble anyway.

If Chuck Fletcher had done exactly what Danny Briere is doing with the Flyers, he would have been fired sooner. But they call it a rebuild, so it's OK.

$12.15M for zero goals or (worse yet) some number of goals against is just gut punchy. I’d be curious to track how many goals/assists other teams get next season that are purchased by the Philanthropic, I mean, Philadelphia Flyers.
This feels like tampa trying to justify trading half their assets for Jeannot. If he walked, they traded all that for a first round exit
I'm pleased the Blues got a deal done with Toropchenko. He's big, has reasonable speed, and some hands. He had ten goals years. If they can get him to spend time in front of the net, he might improve on that.

I know fighting isn't as common as it once was but the Atlantic has a lot of heavyweights. Reaves, Lucic, Xhekaj, Jeannot. Its gonna be a fun season in the Atlantic 😂
I dont think Tony D played THAT badly to warrent a buyout. I dont quite understand the reasoning, its not like theyre going to be good this year either way. Why not just keep him on and try and trade him again another time?
