Alright I want to share some shit for a moment here. I *don’t like him at all* but there’s some story I don’t think everyone either cares to comprehend or doesn’t know.
This dude quite literally lived out the worst year of his life in Raleigh. His first month-ish started strong and we really liked the toughness and net front he provided. Then he seemingly fell off a cliff.
It came out his wife lost a child during pregnancy. He disagreed with his role directly with RBA. This caused some locker room tension. He got shipped off as a piece in a deal for Trochek where the Canes and Panthers essentially just treated him as a salary move.
All of this in a FA year he was trying to earn his big contract (probably 3-4 years with solid $) and it completely dissolved.
I don’t like Haula. I don’t root for him ever.
I just wish we’d give him a *bit* of grace in the fact that this had to be the absolute worst place he’s been in his life due to life and career circumstances. If things had gone differently, he may be a key member of this organization.
