It’s been 5 years since Ray Emery passed away at the age of 35. Here are some pictures of him with the 4 (+1) NHL teams that he played with from 2002 – 2015.

Holy shit it’s been 5 years already?!? I remember it like it was yesterday. He was always one of my alltime favourite goalies and when this story was breaking it really shook me tbh. Get emotional just thinking about it

That’s dope. Forgot he was with Tampa for a time. Loved his zest for life. Razor was def an imposing force. The time he fought Biron and Peters was insane. Hated the time he jumped Holtby. RIP Razor.

2009 Devils home opener against the Flyers. I was super excited to go to the game and for the season to start. Then we ran into a brick wall Ray Emery and we got smoked by Philly

    Rip Rayzor

Won’t forget his 2007 playoff run

I had no idea he passed so young. I remember him, seemed like a genuine guy

Edit: wow didn’t realize he was so disliked, I only vaguely remember him from when I first started to really pay attention to the NHL in 14′. I recind my genuine guy comment

If he was healthy for the 2010 run things could have ended differently

I’ve been an ottawa fan since 2007. Never learned until now that he died.

I’ll always remember Emery as the guy who liked to drive his Lambo through Hess village during summer club nights. The streets would be packed end to end with college kids getting wasted, but here’s ol’ Ray, driving 5km/h through the crowd, flexing. Legend lol

Generational asshole and I fucking loved him for it. RIP Rayzor, you psycho

A reminder to always be careful when you’re around water and boats, especiall if you’ve been drinking. So many different paths can lead to drowning and death. Wearing a life jacket can save your life.

Dude was a piece of shit. Violent asshole who assaulted a lot of people.

The jannies can’t change that, nor should they try.

17-1-0 .922 1.94 in a 48 game 2013 season is one of the best backup seasons ever.

Forgot he played for the Ducks.

Forgot he was on a Hawks cup winning team

Who cares? The guy was a total POS on and off the ice

I was in Hamilton when the news broke. Place was so quiet that day

Marty Biron did the best he could given the circumstances there lol

He definitely wasn’t without his controversies and he certainly deserves a lot of criticism for specific actions, but the avascular necrosis that he battled back from deserves a tip of the hat even if you hate him.

“Emery stated that he did not “care if [he could] walk in seven years”, and he “just [wanted] to play”.” And play that motherfucker did. For another 5 years of pro hockey after having 13 cm of his fibula removed and grafted to his femur to replace the dead bone.

    Always rocking sick Brian’s gear.

  19. Its really sad that he died so young, but still fuck him for the time he jumped that guy that didn’t even want to fight, can’t remember who it was. Rewatching that still makes my blood boil.
