Schenn would be interesting and as a long shot, maybe Domi? I dont think either would be too expensive and instantly improve the squad.
Many people seems to be anticipating Knies to be a sure-thing top 6 guy, and I think there is a pretty good chance that doesn't happen, especially in his first couple seasons. There are very few players that come out of college and are major impact players in the NHL. Just because he's the organization's top prospect doesn't necessarily mean he has elite upside unfortunately.
I hope the Leafs bring in a 3rd pairing shutdown defender like Luke Schenn as well as a 4th liner to play instead of ZAR.
How do the Leafs make it work cap wise you might ask? By trading Holl. Holl makes 2M which means the team would have the cap space to bring in those 2 players as well as not losing a guy off their roster really as a guy like Luke Schenn would bump Holl down to the role of 7th defender imo.

ROR should centre the 3rd line. Unless an injury to Tavares or Matthews happens. Need to make it tough on opposition to neutralize more than 2 lines.
