  1. Slafkovsky has everything a good iq, good speed, very good hand, an élite shot and a pefect attitude and work ethic… He will Bounce back. He will not become a 45 goal Guy but he can ne a 35 maybe 40 goal player that bring a Solid physic game and leadership

  2. I don't think we have anything to worry about regarding Slaf.

His time on the ice with the HABS last year was very limited so we only saw a very small sample of what he is capable of.

This kid has the right attitude and confidence, not to mention his size and skill.

  3. Ahoj,
I think Dach will be great 2C. Faceoffs are thing he can work on.
Slaf need TOI, St.L said Slaf would be on 1st if he didnt get injured.
    Sooo 2nd lane RHP-Dach-Slaf.

For Monty Jessie said it all. He showed himself during 2nd half of last season and World championship. Performance is there.

Overall what I want from Habs this season is to do the same thing they did the last one. But with little bit less shuffle in the lines.
Afterall Slaf said he wants SC with Habs in 3 years so lets spend next 2 to give room for young guys to grow.

  4. I say see where Dach tops out as a center. Maybe pair him up with Newhook and Slafkovsky. Rhp on the first to start.

  5. Agree w Jesse about patience w Dach.

Might solve glut of centermen to put him on wing tho.

    Great job again,gentlemen.

  6. I agree with you guys regarding Montanbeault. There's no reason he should not be our number one goalie at this point.

He did look shaky at first, but over time, he has improved and proven himself IMO.

  7. I'd like to see 35-40 pts from Slaf. I think that will buy him some time with the Montreal critics showing a clear improvement from his 1st season and giving hope to continued improvement going forward

  8. hey Habs Digest! you guys have interesting talking points and the two commentators mesh well together. keep grinding!

  9. The reason for Slafs stats is that he played on the 4th line. It wasn’t because of lack of effort or skill.

  10. Slav needs to go to the AHL to get top line minutes in all situations. He is not ready and will not get any top line minutes in the NHL. He will develop faster in the minors First 40 games down. If he dominates you can bring him up any time.

  11. Montembeault not a #1. He and Allen both quality backups good for 25-30/games, not 50 games or more.

  12. This is a process with an objective of getting the team competitive …It will take a few years ..My beef is giving up 2 solid draft picks for Newhook …We should have kept drafting and not trying to get too good too fast …We need to finish very low and keep picking up from the top of the draft class each year to assemble a team that can go all the way …Newhook is just another smallish dangler that might help get us into permanent middling drafting again …

  13. I dont think Newhook Will beaucoup really succesful in mtl time Will tell us and i hope Slaf Will make at least 30 points but any progression is good i also think Dach can be #2 Centre

  14. Let's not forget Slaf has not been drafted to be a sudden NHL star but to eventually become a monster winger. He was able to translate his strength to the NHL to some level but the weaknesses were more important. It doesn't matter if he puts 40 or 70 points next season, as long as he stabilizes in a monster winger at around 21 or 22. We don't want a Kotkaniemi, we want a Thompson!! (And I'm sure we'll get it)

  15. Almost every young centre is bad at the dot. Crosby was awful, jack hughes is at 35% last year..you guys think hes gonna get pushed to the wing? Not gonna happen.
