Zack MacEwen has been suspended for one game for kneeing Edmonton Oilers defenceman Darnell Nurse in last night’s 6-3 Canucks win.

    Nothing connected so it was a game for attempted. Like going to a convenience store looking suspicious at a bag of chips and being convicted of stealing.

    That's BS. Nurse should have got fined are suspended aswell for the slashing and cross checking. NHL has always been Canucks haters.

    I'm conflicted. Kneeing is a suspendable offense, and the DoPS video stated that he was being suspended not for the result, but rather the intent.

    Flip side of the coin, that MMA style takedown was very dangerous. According to DoPS, that action isn't… anyone else having flashbacks to Matheson V. Pettersson? Was Nurse's actions not considered roughing? I can see some off-season changes in the rulebook.

    In isolation. I am okay with that. However, in relation to all the other decision and non-decisions around the league, it is an absolute disgrace.

    I mean I get that he barely hit him but the intent to injure was there it deserves a suspension for that reason no one should go out of there way to hit a guy in the head with there knee he could have went to the bench but no he decides to hit nurse with his knee I’m a leafs fan so this doesn’t affect me but it deserves a suspension but the Wilson should have a been a 20 game suspension if this was a 1 game

    The fact is, he skated up to Nurse while he was down with the INTENTION to knee Nurse in the head. That is dangerous and absolutely suspendable. If he would skated up to Nurse and roughed him up with with his hands, I have zero problems with that but he skated up and straight up attempted to knee someone in the head while they're down. He's lucky he only got one game with his intent to injure someone.

    If it was Tom Wilson who did that, everybody would be calling for a suspension too.
