Drafted in the 4th round of the 2011 NHL Draft, Pageau was a solid center for Ottawa over the course of 8 seasons in the Nations capital. This season he set a new career high in goals with 26, and was one point short of matching his career high in points, gathering a total of 42 between both the Sens and the Isles.
The Senators traded Pageau at the deadline to the New ork Islanders, in exchange for a 2020 first round pick, 2020 second round pick, and a 2022 third round pick (all conditional).
One of our best forwards this season and leader for this team, thank you J.G Pageau for 8 years in Ottawa. I will never forget the “Pageau Pageau” chants after scoring a hatrick against the Canadians in the 2013 playoffs. Or when he scored 4 clutch goals and came back against the Rangers in the 2017 playoffs. Through the tough times in Ottawa during the past few seasons, Pageau never once complained about his time in Ottawa, always gave his 100% and was a beloved fan favorite. He did way more than what was asked of him and absolutley thrived this year.
Thank you, Jean Gabriel-Pageau.
Isles fans, take care of him. Your getting an amazing center who for sure will be a huge part of your core for years to come. #PagerTrain
