Fleury continues tradition of thanking his posts

Pittsburgh Penguins goalie Marc-Andre Fleury gives credit where its due, especially when the iron behind him stops a goal.

  1. i do that all the time – to my car – whenever i get home safely, no mechanical problems … i just thank my car, touching the side several times after I get out … no kissing though ! 🙂

  2. goalposts are not a goalie's friend. they are too unpredictable. better to give thanks to your skilled defense men instead. they save a goalie's ass and prevent scoring attempts far more often than those red bars do … and sometimes pay a very heavy price for it.

  3. I love it, brings a smile to my face. Great goalie on a great team, even though I'd rather have the Caps win lol.

  4. I'm not a Penns fan but do think it is great that they are where they are. he got pushed aside last year and is given a chance to prove himself again. must have been frustrating to watch last year. I bet he's determined to help them go back to back, which imo, they will.

  5. Tradition? More like genuine superstition. Being a goalie and having all that pressure on you messes with your head…

  6. The best thing about Fleury is his ability to keep the mood light even in an intense situation. The guy has so much fun and shows it. That's what I will miss about the Flower in Pittsburgh

  7. I can't help but love M.A. Fleury. I saw him play before he went to the NHL and he was such a great character and fun to watch.

  8. We give Respect and Honor to the Post Ghost! For all the lucky breaks He gives to us goalies!
