With all of the trade speculation around the Sharks’ Erik Karlsson, negotiations seem to have stalled with the Penguins, the Hurricanes, and other teams. GM Mike Grier is still searching for a trade. Kyle Dubas is looking to upgrade the Penguins’ core, and Toronto Maple Leafs fans decided they’re in the running too after their GM made a phone call. Is William Nylander the trade piece that the Leafs are offering for Karlsson? Or is it all fabrication? Apparently, Karlsson is open to going to Pittsburgh, but so far the teams have not been able to reach a deal.

If they get rid of more picks or Yager to make this Karlsson deal work, I'm gonna scream. Karlsson is better but we already have Letang filling that role. It would make for an impressive roster but honestly, I'd rather see some smaller trades. Something like trying to get Puljujärvi or Bear for 1m/1 and getting rid of Carter and Rutta. That would imo make the Pens way stronger.
So the pens would score 6 but still allow 7….forget Karlsson, go after defensive defensmen. We need to stop the 3rd period flops. Or maybe look at the coaching. Defense wins games in reg season and especially the playoffs.
As a penguin fan, I think Karlsson would be super deadly on the Penguins and the leafs
