  1. Its over, just give Vegas the cup already, move the draft up to this Saturday, free agency to Monday and training camp on Wednesday lol

  2. VGK had some perfect shot goals, while the Panthers beat Hill 3 times but not the posts. Panthers were the better team in the 1st period, but didn't have their legs in the 2nd and 3rd periods. That will happen when you don't have game action for 11 straight days.

While the Panthers were the aggressor with being physical and doing extra stuff after the whistle, I thought the officiating was somewhat poor favoring the VGK. Last this Cup Final Game 1 reminded me of how Vegas won Game 1 in 2018. They got away with too much in that game as well.

Gretzky is completely wrong with assessment that Vegas can even play greater. It's the Panthers who can play a lot better and I expect they will in Game 2.

  3. This is quickly becoming my favourite hockey channel. The analysis provided here is far more interesting than media and rumours coverage that other channels do (aka talking about someone’s Tweet)

  4. They beat Bob clean. Shots were pretty even but Vegas had better posession time they worked harder and had some luck on their side I counted 3 posts but Hill wasn’t just lucky he was good too. Tkatchuk got the dbl minor at the end which he will criticize himself heavily for as it sealed their fate so I think he will have a better game 2 as will Bob. The rest of Florida played ok, but the knights seemed to have their zone entry figured out. Vs Toronto the cats could zig zag in, sneak in, dump in forecheck gain posession but they had trouble executing zone entry. Once in the zone they were able to score or hit posts or force hill to make ridiculous saves.

Zone entry key for the cats, Vegas key is keep out working them lije in game 1 but not underestimate their sneaky counter attack once their zone is breached in those rare times it happened and to not forget while Bob is still only human so is hill.

The cats had only 1 less shot despite a huge difference in posession time so that was a huge factor in game 1 and I don’t see why it wouldn’t be for game 2 as Vegas tries to go 2/2 vs the best road team (8-2) in the playoffs.

  5. "In this Stanley Cup Final if Vegas wanted any chance to beat Bob they have to…" Nice use of present, to past to future tense. Impressive… most impressive. Not easy to muff that so badly.

  6. If Staal can stop bouncing shots in his own net it will help his team! He stands in front of Bobrovsky all the time, blocking the goalie’s view and looks like they don’t mind about it… Florida just need to clear all the bumpers in front of Bobrovsky 😊

  7. If Vegas fans think Game 2 is going to go exactly like Game 1, they show they never watched hockey outside their own games. If they didn't see the Boston series AT ALL, (spare me your ignorance of Boston), then you'll see that their adjustments are second to none on these playoffs. Maurice is the button pusher here and he knows what he's doing. The defense WILL tighten up and some of those PINGS will go into the back of the net.
The Panthers missed 4 expected goals. 4. That's leaving a Game 1 win, as mentioned in the commentary, on the ice. Florida very well COULD have won that game. Hill made a ONE great save, but those pings have to be disconcerting.
If Vegas wants to let the middle of the ice roam free, Florida can do that. They scored more goals last year than they ever have, they know how to do it. So sure, illegally board our guys and get away with it, but then you open up Barkov, Verhaeghe, Reinhart, and Bennet to score at will on your shitty goalie. He's a journeyman goalie for a reason. You don't see Fla starting Lyon in the SCF do you? There's a reason. Vegas thinks they are the only one with talent. THat's just pure hockey ignorance. I mean, I've heard it from all of them. Only Matty Ice is a good player, then boom, Sasha scores from the top of the circle on a wrister. Boom Reinhart scores on a wrap around. Boom, Verhaeghe on a one timer. When we said 7 games, we meant 7 games. Fla will win tonight and Vegas fans will start posting about who they trade in the off season like every other team we've played.
It's a Series for a reason. Show some humility and act like you've been there. Vegas is such an illiterate franchise.

  8. Honestly if the panthers can play a full 60 minutes against vegas I think they'll win. They played equal to vegas the first 40 minutes but fell apart entirely in the 3rd.

  9. It wasn’t necessarily that Miami played a bad game, it was Vegas played a strategic game & executed. It was obvious the 10 day layoff didn’t help panthers. They were too emotional. Game 2 will tell a lot about the future of this SCF.

  10. As a canes fan, we shoot it at the goalies chest a ton. We made him look a lot better then he actually is

  11. I have been saying this same thing, Bob is an amazing goalie, but a lot of other team fans’ were saying Florda was going to shut vegas out, look at how Vegas has depth and they took advantage of how bob sees.

  12. Please….. best goalie? ….. you must be high … NO WAY BOB WINS a cup!
Besides A. HILL way more dominant

  13. It was nice to see Florida finally get humbled by an elite team that was organized and thorough with their play. Hoping to see three more out of Vegas.

  14. I am a Vegas fan, and even I say that was a 3-2 game, not a 5-2 game. That steal into a goal was almost a fluke, and the empty netter is what football fans call 'garbage time yards'

  15. Doesn’t matter if a goalie’s super hot, they’re only as good as the team in front of them defends. A team with the best goalie of all time but poor defensive play will lose. Hockey is a team sport. Everyone has to be playing better than the other team in order to win.

  16. Florida's mistakes were tactical,

F2 and F3 have to do a better job of screening Vegas off the blue line

Whitecloud absolutely smoked us on bad zone d

And Marchessault had a wide open lane with Montour pulled off his position

I don't feel like Florida needs to Man Mark anyone except Eichel

Also the defensive and neutral zone transitions looked reminiscent of 2021 mistakes,

Cross ice passing that resulted in bad turnovers

Florida's bread and butter is dump in from neutral zone —> forecheck,

All the fancy stuff in the middle got us in trouble

if we fix those mistakes, we're back in business

    LETS GO CATS

  17. Honestly, not only is Vegas doing a great job getting traffic in front of the net, but the Panthers are playing weak defensively and not clearing bodies the way they should be. They let Vegas camp in front of their net while both defensemen chase, which is what led to Duclair trying to block Vegas's third goal and just screening Bobrovsky instead. Panthers have got to tighten up their play moving forward. The Stanley Cup final is not the place to be chasing penalties and leaving your goalie out to dry.

  18. Have your opponent not play as well as they usually do. Bob was still Bob. Vegas didn't really do much different than other teams have this playoffs. Florida's defense just wasn't as good as clearing thr path in game as they had been

  19. Having 10 days off didn't help anyone on the Panthers. They were passing the puck to open ice, getting tangled up with each other entering the O-zone, forgetting basic defense in front of the net. It's only further proof of how opportunistic they are that they hit several posts and fanned on an empty net giving Hill the chance to look like the second coming (highlight save nonetheless). Back in the olden days players grumbled when there were 2 days off between games and the media always gave the edge to the team with less rest. I expect Florida to get their game legs back and make a series of it.

  20. That layoff screwed up that mojo they had going. Most of us knew that was most likely going to happen. When you're the "team of destiny" and everything is going your way you can't have a long wait before your next series or you might lose the magic and so far they did. Hope they find it again so this series is actually watchable. ANYTHING but Vegas hoisting the cup will be sweeet!

  21. As much as florida hit posts .Lets be real ,the 2 goals they did get .vgk scored for them .hill knocked in the first goal and the second was off whitecloud

  22. My mom is in Vegas golden knight fan, so I showed it to her and she thanked me for finding it, even though I didn’t do anything and I use my mom’s account so that’s why it’s amw

  23. Game 2 just ended. Yep, Bob's only human…. chased. Adin Hill's playing better than him. Lots of hockey left, and now to Florida they go, so let's see how the Panthers respond. I expect them to show up and prove they're in the finals for a reason. LGVGK!

  24. I’d like personally congratulate the NHL for completely ruining the 2023 Stanley Cup finals. What should have been one of the best finals in recent memory turned into😂 a three alarm dumpster fire. Making the teams wait a full week + just to resume the series was dumb. We need a new rule: whichever team is last to make the finals will get two days off. The series will kickoff on the third day.

Bobrovsky was the best goalie in the entire playoffs, by far, no one else was even close. As a player and a former coach the last thing you want is a 10 day break when your goaltender is playing out of his mind. So instead of a great series we’re getting the Bobrovsky from the regular season that dragged the team across the finish line to become the wildcard #8 team.

  25. As a panthers fan, this is exactly what i was worried about. I feel like the full week of rest was actually a bad thing for Bob. he likes to stay active

  26. Best goalie in NHL? He's played over his head throughout the playoffs. Knights revealed Panthers real talent…cheap shots, luck and pukey players. They couldn't pull their poop on the Knights. Got beat like the little whiney brats they are.

  27. This was an awesome breakdown and you brought a lot of points forward that I hadn’t thought of. Thank you

  28. Vegas shredded every elite goalie in the post season. They put 4 in the net on Bob in game 2, scoring 7 total in that game…then scored 8 on thim in game 5. Fukin nuked him.

  29. Florida was never really a serious competitor threat. Without their mouthy bully, Tkachuk, they were a barely a contender.

  30. Honestly the fact that Vegas significantly nerfed Bobrovskiy's save percentage from a ~0.932 SVG % to a 0.915 SVG % despite Boston, Toronto, and Carolina and the Tampa Bay that got swept; all failed to do so is insane
