I like the signings I think the only one I was skeptical last off season was Chiarot like everyone else but Holl will help out. Seems like Yzerman is fixing our holes in the roster pretty fast
It’s always a strange thing to hope a player that was a bust for your team “pops” off with a new opportunity on a different team..
Ie.. Vrana scoring 35+ for the Blues, or if Zadina goes and puts up 20+ goals for someone else..
I don’t think I’m too happy about that.. 😂
And, If I’m a vet that got signed by DET, of course I’m going to say I’m excited for the opportunity and the “potential” of the franchise.. what else would you say ? 🤷♂️

On third thought , I think that Yzerman has done rather well on most of these acquisitions !
IMO there is a bit of a straw man rage bit…there is no major wave of criticism of Yzerman, so why build it up like the fanbase is all angry to then rant against them? Only a few morons that dont understand hockey are complaining IMO. Yzerplan is fully in effect. No worries at all.
I do not like free agency at all. I will agree the team is better but not better than teams around us. We will be 7th again if this is the only moves they make.
I think people are irrationally and unreasonably upset about the Holl deal. Maybe it's an overpayment, but I don't see anything wrong with the money or term. Compher is another deal where I think there's a bit of overpayment going on there, but again, it's not that big a deal. There are players in this league who received more term and money than he did, where that term or money is unreasonably high (See: Killorn to ANA).
The most important thing is the Red Wings still have all their picks and prospects. Would you trade away Edvinsson and Mazur with a first round pick for Debrincat? Then he's asking for around 9 million on a long term contract. Yzerman is correct in not making those deals.
