He’s making a case, but I can’t put him with a guy like Hedman
Controversial idea but what about Darnell Nurse from the Edmonton Oilers? He has 13 Goals (tied for first in the league), plays 25:42 a night, almost never plays the PP yet has scored. So he plays almost 2 minutes more a night, scores more and plays less PP time (by a lot). Don't get me wrong, Adam Fox is certainly in the discussion. I know Tyson Barrie (Edmonton as well) is right close for points (with slightly less PP time and almost 3 mins less TOI per game) but his D can be, ah, not. Darnell Nurse has grown a ton defensively. Your thoughts are appreciated.
Hi John, As a Rangers fan I'd love to see Fox win the Norris, he surely is deserving. Particularly because this is only his 2nd year, with 41 points in 47 games played thus far. To be fair, playing alongside Lindgren helps him a lot on most nights. Regardless, Fox plays a very good all around game. Honestly, I don't think he'll get the Norris – more likely Carlson or Hedman will. Lastly John, as much as I'm excited about Fox lets not over-hype him. He's not Brian Leetch, at least not yet. LOL. I think if the Rangers make the yoffs….(as a Ranger fan I find this very unlikely) Adam Fox could definitely win the Norris but I think they won't, so I doubt they give him the Norris simply bc I think making the yoffs plays a key factor in deciding individual trophies…that goes for Vezina, Hart, etc….but we shall see.

Fox got most his points from 3 games. 2 against the flyers and one against another one. Fox is good but he ain’t Norris good

Adam Fox or Victor Hedman for Horris. But IF I HAD TO PICK 1, I'd go Fox. His offensive potential is really high despite being in his mid 20's. Amazing D-man. And Jon congrats on 30K subs.
Ugh… The one that got away…
Fox is the best processor of info. I have seen since Orr at his age. Not great speed, not great size, but NO one gets a big hit on him and his breakout is incredible. Great PP Quarterback, penalty killer and a GREAT passer of the puck.

honestly, yes Im a huge Ranger fan but you can't argue how good he has been. Top 20 in scoring as a D, #1 Scoring D, plays and excels in the PP, PK. He is a +23. Should he win it?? YES. Will he win it?? My honest assessment is 100% No if the Rangers fail to make the playoffs and that looks like it will happen. If they get in then I think he has a 60% chance to win. They like to give veterans the trophies and like to see the young guys develop and remain consistent. But dam, He has a great shot at it for sure.
Tbh Fox deserves more consideration than he's getting right now. Idc about how good Hedman is, compare the Rangers to the Lightning, that is right, Tampa is stacked offensively, and Hedman is the favorite mostly for his offensive ability. Fox deserves it more than Hedman, the dude spends 3 seasons in the NCAA, then gets called up to the NYR to play and kicks ass as a rookie. And this season now he is a Norris candidate 100% deserves it the most.
I think Mike smith has been amazing season he’s kept the oilers in a bunch of games he has been making incredible saves of the season he needs more attention

Adam Fox is certainly amongst the Top 3 Blue liners with his performance this season. But Herman has the inside track because of reputation.
