We know who the Islanders selected with their second and third-round pick, but what about the other four picks? And what about a final grade for the 2021 draft?
It's Raty with some real potential, Aleksi who is basically a lottery ticket, and some guys who might be grinders. Grinders are OK and can fill out a system, plus you're not asking for much more out of late-round picks, but this is not exactly a banner draft like '08 or '09. They just need it to be solid. A spectacular outcome from this, for instance, would be if Raty is a second-line center, Lennox is an NHL backup, Berg and Liukas are fourth line grinders, and one of the defensemen becomes useful at all.

Ken Morrow's brother scouts Michigan so you see the connection in the OHL picks. Meanwhile their is a UND connection so guys end up there. Drafting guys that end up in several leagues in Europe allow the Isles to have several places to develop the picks. Head scout is in Finland and hence he gets the first choices like Holmstrom and Raty plus finds a landing spot for Wilde. Point is you take guys that are smart and coachable and they have places to develop.
