Not that cap space is a huge issue but this seems overkill from the arbitrator.. is there any additional information about why the arbitrator ruled that way?
Definitely an overpay but good for him lol
I wonder how quickly he gets dealt now๐
I wonder if deployment and TOI played a big role in the decision. Kurashev played in basically every situation throughout the lineup last year. Iโm a huge Kurashev supporter but even to me this feels steep for his stats to this point
The Hawks won’t use all the cap space seriously for quite a few years and considering it shouldn’t be an issue I will always be happy for the players in this case and most cases.
Pass
Overpay, heโs a borderline AHLer on other teams
Maybe a slight overpay but most people I was reading either from national writers or local writers were predicting about 1.8 mil to 2 mil for 1 year. Have to remember he is still pretty young at 23 and I disagree with some saying he is an AHL player he very clearly has NHL skill and is a swiss army knife. A somewhat comparable contract which was just signed was David Kampf for 2.4 AAV for 4 years. Kampf had 2 more points but 2 less goals last season and is 28. This is probably what a good 4th line or alright bottom 6 guy is worth now and like I said I think Philipp has more to show.
In what world is that his value? i would let him walk. not that cap is an issue, but out of principle.
Well that’s more than what I was expecting, but glad to see that Kurashev will be back. I’m wondering if this is a “prove it” sort of deal for him.
What a joke. The guy had all the opportunity in the world last year and scored 9 goals, 25 points. On what planet is he worth over 2 mil.
Should have let him walk.
750K per year overpay no doubt. Doesnโt really matter tho. Welcome back Philadelphia!
