As has been said on the Hawks sub, he’s a man who ends up leaving a somewhat difficult legacy. But he also turned what was once a dead franchise voted worst in all of professional sports into the closest thing to a dynasty that the NHL has seen in decades. He helped entirely revitalize the fanbase. The reports said he had no knowledge of the Kyle Beach incident but even then his behavior afterwards was a discredit to the sport of hockey and basic human decency.
Regardless, I’m still thankful for Rocky Wirtz and since I can never know otherwise I will choose to believe if he had known what was going on at the time he would’ve done the right thing. Naive? Absolutely. But it is what it is.

People can say whatever they want about Kyle Beach and whatever happened to him, if true, it’s disgusting. But during our days in the WHL I dated a girl for over a year who told me about the time he raped her, so I don’t feel too fucking bad for that guy. Rest in peace.
